Flexographic Printing Machine: Principles, Applications, and Industry Trends
--Efficient and environmentally friendly printing technology

1, Overview of Flexographic Printing Technology
Flexographic Printing (Flexo for short) is a rotary printing technology that uses flexible printing plates and is widely used in packaging, labeling, soft film, and other fields. Its core features are:

Printing plate material: Flexible photosensitive resin or rubber plates are used, which can adapt to various substrates such as paper, plastic, film, corrugated cardboard, etc.

Printing method: Water or UV ink is transferred through Anilox Roll, and the printing plate is directly in contact with the substrate to complete the printing.

Advantages: High speed printing, low pollution (mainly water-based ink), strong adaptability, especially suitable for large-scale packaging printing.

2, The working principle of flexographic printing machine
The flexographic printing machine is mainly composed of the following components:

Unwinding device: used for inputting printing materials.

Printing unit:

Mesh roller: controls the amount of ink and evenly transfers ink through a honeycomb structure engraved by laser.

Plate cylinder: Install flexible printing plates with raised graphic and textual parts.

Impression cylinder: Apply pressure to transfer the graphics and text on the printing plate to the substrate.

Drying system: using hot air, UV curing or infrared drying ink.

Roll up device: Collecting materials after printing is completed.

Printing process:
Unwinding → multi-color printing (color by color stacking) → drying → die-cutting/laminating (optional) → winding

3, The core application areas of flexographic printing machines
Packaging printing:

Food packaging: such as snack bags and beverage labels (compliant with food grade safety standards).

Corrugated cardboard box: graphic and textual identification for fast printing logistics packaging.

Flexible packaging: plastic film, aluminum foil, etc. (commonly used in the daily chemical and pharmaceutical industries).

Label printing:

Adhesive labels, anti-counterfeiting labels (high-precision, multi-color printing requirements).

Special material printing:

Non woven fabric, metal foil, synthetic paper, etc.
